It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Lorne Richard Carter Elliott, at the age of 77.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jacqueline; his daughters, Shelley (Marlon), Tannis (David) and Charlene (Doug); his brother Howard (Pat); and sister Avis; and his grandchildren, James, Daniel, Jacqueline and Cade.
Lorne was born in Winnipeg and graduated from the University of Manitoba. An exceptional businessman, Lorne was promoted at a young age to Vice President of Fidelity Trust Mortgage Company. He moved to Calgary in 1972 to create its Western Division, opening up branches in all of the western provinces. He subsequently assumed the role of Financial Director of Mrs. D.L. Milne Cannery Ltd. in Summerland, BC. Following this, Lorne was President of Dynavest.
An avid sportsman and outdoorsman, Lorne was happiest with his family, fishing, hunting and at the family cabin. Lorne spent his retirement years between Calgary, Sooke, BC, and at his cabin in Minaki, ON. Above all, Lorne loved, and was loved by, his family.
A private family service has been held.
You left us too soon.
