Scott, Craig, Garnet, Ian and Tricia Your mom was a wonderful person and always made the time to just chit chat with all of us kids growing up. Remembering the big snow storm and jumping out of the top bedroom windows into the snow... Too funny but it was fun. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you remember your precious mom. May she rest in God's great kingdom... Renate ,and Family. - Posted by: Renate ( Lohr ) Gardy (neighbor and babysitter to the children) on: Oct 19, 2019

On October 6 I lost my one and only auntie. Pat Hillhouse (Miller) she did not have an easy life but always maintained a positive attitude with all that life through at her. She was funny and always trusted that her kids were there for her. She had lived next door to us for time in Elmwood and our cousins were only on jump over the fence to go visit. Then when she became a single Mom responsible for raising 5 children without much help she did the best she could moving to a different part of Elmwood. She struggled to raise her kids working in the bank and trying to make ends meet yet she pushed on when many others would have given up. Later in life when the kids had all grown up and her health was not as good she found a nice seniors apartment on Henderson and as always she made friends easily and was well liked by all that knew her. During my many stays in hospital she would come and visit me even though she was using a walker but her son Ian and her came up and it meant the world to me. She was always worried for the health and well being of others over herself. Visiting with Auntie Pat over the last few weeks she had come to terms with what was ahead and I am so proud to have known her for these past 60 something years. - Posted by: Chris Hillhouse (Nephew) on: Oct 19, 2019
