STANLEY (STAN) BOYD (BOYARSKI)
Stan, the fifth and youngest child of Gregory and Katherine (nee Klicz) Boyarski, was born in Winnipeg on August 6, 1922. His loving wife Evelyn "Betty";, his parents; and four siblings predeceased him.
Stan will be fondly remembered by his children, Kathy (Ray) Hayden, Richard, Judy (Neil) Shirtliff and Jim (Brenda Lucas); grandchildren Mike, Amy and Caitlin Hayden, Aaron and Shawn Boyd, Jason, David, Ryan and Andrew Shirtliff and Sarah and Gabrielle Boyd; great-grandson Bradley; and many nieces and nephews.
An electrician, Stan worked across the high Artic in Resolute Bay, Mould Bay and Alert in Nunavut while helping build the DEW Line. He also worked several years in the "hole" in Shilo, Manitoba. Stan started Boyd Electric later in his career and after retiring, worked at CORE Industries teaching woodworking, one of his passions. Stan enjoyed bowling so much that he league bowled at Recreation Lanes in the winter and lawn bowled at Rideau Park through the summer; finally giving up both in his late 80s.
The Celebration of Stan's Life will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Memories Chapel, 330 - 18th Street North, Brandon.
