Condolences & Memories (12 entries)

  • I was sadden to learn that my long time Teacher had passed. Growing up I learned so much from this gentle man . When I attended Isaac Newton I always played 21 of course Mr Tynes always majority of the time lol, taught me so much about the game of basketball and how to be patient and fun . I then moved on to work in education and had the pleasure to work with Mr Tynes when he sub at the School where I worked . I enjoyed the story on how he went LA to watch the Lakers play and always had soft spot for his Bucs, I know it took me a long time to say something about this great man because I really didn't know what to say without crying. I hope this understands how Mr Tynes meant to me I love you miss you every day until we meet again RIP coach - Posted by: Daniel West (Student) on: Nov 12, 2020

  • I knew Phil from Winnipeg Centre Project. He was the kindest, sweetest, funniest guy! He brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him. He touched my life in a special way by his friendship, which I so appreciated. He spoke always with love and respect, about his wife. I know that he was loved by all who knew him. The world is a sadder place without him, but he has left us wonderful memories of his smile, his humour, and his kindness. My sincerest sympathies to the entire family. • Mr. Tynes you were such a character and even at times my protector. Seeing you present there whether it was Isaac Newton and Sisler. Still can't believe you're no longer with us anymore. - Posted by: Mr. Jessie Lopez (Student) on: Oct 22, 2019

  • I feel broken today. I loved Phil like he was my big brother. Even though we lost contact with each other since we both retired, I often thought fondly of him. We shared so many awesome times. We worked, travelled, shared love for each other’s families and got into mischief. I loved to hear Phil sing. My favorite song that he sang was when I sat beside him at his mom’s funeral, ‘Precious Memories’. Phil will always be in my heart and until it is my time to join him in the Spirit World, I will forever treasure all the precious memories he and I shared. To Phil’s family, please accept my deepest condolences. Rest in Peace my friend. - Posted by: Jan Zamparutti (Friend) on: Oct 19, 2019
