MARCEL JOSEPH ROSAIRE LAROCQUE

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Marcel Joseph Rosaire Larocque, on October 12, 2019, at the age of 85 years.
Left to cherish his memory is son Aime (Patricia); his daughters, Gisele (Patrick) and Diane; his grandsons, AJ, Jason (Sabrina), Jeremy (Colleen), Ryan (Shaylene) and Travis; his great-grandchildren, Breanna, Michelle, Riley and Dakota-Jae; his brother Lucien; his sisters, Marie-Jeanne and Evelyn; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Marcel was predeceased by his beloved wife of 63 years, Anita on July 4, 2019; his parents, Victor and Alice Larocque; his infant brother Donat; his sisters, Lillian, Emilie; his brother Adelard; great-granddaughters Jaime and Taylor; as well as numerous close family members and special friends.
Dad was born in the RM of Ste. Anne, MB on November 17, 1933. He married the love of his life Anita on October 29, 1955. Dad and Mom's family began with the birth of their son Aime in 1956, their first daughter Gisele in 1958 and completing their family with their second daughter Diane in 1959. Dad and Mom also shared their love and home to 17 foster children from 1967 to 1980.
Dad was in the trucking industry as a truck driver working for Stern Trucks and then lifelong employer Favorite Transport until his retirement at the age of 60.
Dad's interests included music, especially his love of playing the fiddle. After his retirement, Dad and Mom travelled to numerous places in Manitoba and Saskatchewan participating in numerous fiddling contests. His other passions included fixing cars, fishing, camping and going to their cottage in St. Malo, MB.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for the wonderful care given to our father.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy 1 E at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB. A private family interment will follow.
