PETER PLOEGMAN
Pete was born on June 13, 1951 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Klaas and Grace (Klip) Ploegman. On June 19, 1971, he married Ricki Jaspers. They raised two daughters, Angie (Iowa) and Shannon (East St. Paul), and two sons, Kevin (East St. Paul) and Nolan (East St. Paul).
Pete worked hard at whatever he did, serving more than 25 years as a City of Winnipeg firefighter. After retirement, Pete continued working as the Manager - Shingle Division for Oakwood Roofing. This became his passion and true retirement was never a consideration. Pete had a love for reading westerns and crime novels, doing crossword puzzles and watching his grandchildren play hockey. He loved to tell jokes and made quick friends with most everyone he met, finding common ground quickly.
Peter was preceded in death by his father Klaas, and his mother Grace.
He is survived by his wife Ricki, his four children, Angela (Suresh), Shannon (Marino Ted), Kevin (Christy), Nolan (Rachel), and 11 grandchildren, Madisyn, Devon, Morgan, Maia, Anders, Alex, Marika, Anika, Logan, Cali and Sadie. He is also survived by his four siblings, Martin (Beatrice), Grace, John and Gertie (Bob).
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Covenant Christian Reformed Church at 653 Knowles Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba at 1:30 p.m.
