SANDRA RYCHLICKI
(nee KLOWAK)
December 19, 1934 - October 23, 2019

Peacefully, with family at her side, Sandra, aged 84, passed away on October 23, 2019 at Holy Family Personal Care Home.
Sandra was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Mike. Sandra will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Cathie (Ken, Kyle, Taylor), son Brian (Irene, Kevin, Jeffrey), brother William (deceased) (Ida Porter deceased), brother Peter (deceased) (Sophie deceased), brother Walter (deceased) (Mary deceased), brother Morris (deceased) (Edna deceased), sister Olga Deley (deceased) (Peter deceased), sister-in- law Pearl (Nick deceased) Lacko, nephews, Dennis (Jo-Anne) Deley, Pat (Rick deceased) Wege, Terry Klowak, Donna Klowak, Connie (Ken) Loewen, David (Bernie) Klowak, Brenda (Randy) Rawluk, Robert Deley, Janice (Tim) Howell, Janet Klowak, Larry (Loral) Lacko and Wayne (Ramona) Lacko, and Jeanette Kirby.
Sandra was born in Winnipeg, MB to Andrew and Mary Klowak and was raised on the family farm in Poplarfield, MB. As the youngest child Sandra spent a lot of her time while not in school assisting her mother with the cooking and household chores. She also enjoyed acting in many church plays. As a young adult, she ventured to Winnipeg and worked in the clothing industry as a sewing machine operator. On July 12, 1958, she married Mike Rychlicki. Together they raised a family, made a home and shared 60 good years of marriage. This included her and Mike packing up the family, along with brother William Klowak and mother Mary Klowak, and moving to Binscarth where they owned and operated the 580 Hotel in western Manitoba from 1966 to 1973. Sandra loved to travel with her family in the summers and soon after retiring from the Winnipeg Free Press advertising department she made numerous trips outside of Canada with Mike. The most memorable being church trips to Ukraine and Italy. Sandra and Mike spent many winters in Palm Springs and loved short trips across the border to Grand Forks. She was especially proud of her grandsons, Kevin and Jeff. She had a very loving and active relationship with them. Whether it was taking them out for lunch or watching their hockey games - she was always there for the boys. She was also quite active with the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Parish where she served on many committees, her favourite being the perogy making group.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Holy Family Personal Care Home for their care and compassion shown to our mother, especially Josephine, Pam and Irene.
Funeral service will be held at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Parish - 505 Watt Street, Winnipeg, MB at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sandra's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
