Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • We met Bert and Lorraine in Bucerias, MX several years ago. We stayed In the same complex and instantly struck up a friendship with them. They lived one floor below us and we spent many happy hours with them around the pool. Lorraine was famous for her Margaritas which she was always happy to prepare and share. Our invite was her very loud blender .....we knew it was time for happy hour! We shared many laughs and Bert and Gary were always giving each other quick witted barbs and teases! Lorraine and I took many beach walks which I treasure as we never ran out of things to talk about. Her beautiful smile and infectious laugh could brighten any one's day. One of our favorite Bert memories was the year that Gary caught a LOT of fish. We shared that fish every night with them in the palapa for a week!! Bert would clean up every morsel!! I was always expecting him to lick the plate clean! They were so very proud of their kids and grandchildren.....we felt like we knew you all personally. They shared many stories old and new of your lives. We were so saddened to learn of their passing. I know how dedicated they were to you and always willing to help out wherever required. Take comfort in the cherished memories you have of them both. I know what a deep and unexpected loss you are experiencing. They were wonderful people and will be missed by many. Take care of each other in this time of sorrow. We are thinking of you and the many friends left to mourn their loss. We have many special memories of them. Rest easy old friends.
