ROSE SCIBERRAS
(KOBLANSKI)
December 21, 1927 October 16, 2019
Mom is lovingly remembered by her
husband (of 70 years) Charles, children,
Donald (Valerie), Victoria (Richard), Linda (Randy) and Paul, brothers, Bob (Maureen) and Allan, grandchildren, Wendy (Ian),
Bradley, Breanne, Charlene (Jason), Brittany (Kevin), Matthew, Grant, Adam and seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Mom was predeceased by her son Peter, grandson Shawn, parents, Emily (Bennink) and Alexander (Koblanski), sisters, Emily, Ann, Nel and brother Bill.
Rose was born and raised in East Kildonan. She received her education at Polson School and EKC. Mom married the love of her life Charles, November 26, 1949 and resided in East Kildonan, Transcona and Dugald. She worked mainly in the retail industry in
managerial positions. She was a member of the C.W.L. since 1958 and was an active
member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish
(annual church bazaar, board member, etc.). One of the highlights in her life was when she was asked along with three friends to be
Protocol Assistant for visiting priests and bishops when Pope John-Paul II came to
Winnipeg in 1984. This was unexpected,
considered a great honour and made her very happy! Mom enjoyed bingo, playing cards, cribbage, knitting, working with plastic
canvas and doing word search and Jumbles. She loved to watch hockey games, especially the Winnipeg Jets. Mom had an "Open Door Policy" and treasured her family and friends.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in the Green Acres Funeral Home, Highway 1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Family would like to thank the doctors,
nurses and staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the care and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
