PETER PENNER
January 21, 1934 - October 25, 2019

Peter Penner, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in the early hours on October 25, 2019, at the St. Boniface Hospital.
Surviving his passing is the love of his life of 59 years, Betty (nee Hiebert) and their children, Rose (James) Sawatzky, Ken (Bonita) Penner and Wendy (David) Malko. He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Russell, Carly (Mike), Heather, Jordan (Ataya), Everett and Campbell.
Peter was born in Chortitz, Manitoba to Martin and Katharina Penner (nee Goertzen) on January 21, 1934. He was the second youngest of 11 children. He leaves to mourn a large extended family including siblings, John, Abe and Neil (Judy). Peter was predeceased by his parents, six brothers and one sister. Also mourning his passing is Betty's extended family. He loved his family dearly and was proud to be an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held at Friends Funeral Home, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place Friday, November 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Reinfeld Cemetery, Reinfeld, Manitoba, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. in the Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank all of the medical professionals who have been involved in his treatment this past year, in particular, Dr. James Edye-Rowntree for his exemplary care of Dad.
