ELWYN (EL) HIE
February 15, 1945 - October 22, 2019

Elwyn (EL) Hie passed away peacefully on October 22, 2019.
He is survived by his wife Cathy; son Miles; niece Trudy Staudinger (Ryan); nephew Calvin Staudinger; and their children Trinity and Xander.
Born in Wolseley, SK, El was a gentle animal lover; horses, dogs and cats, they all took to him. He was often found napping, curled up with his cats. He was an avid gardener and during summers he often enjoyed staying out late with his family and friends, swapping stories over a bonfire in the beautiful garden he cultivated at his home. He and his wife were bird enthusiasts, and could share the daily traffic reports of birds in the neighborhood. El was a huge CFL fan, particularly of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Since retirement, he had taken the opportunity to travel, enjoying a game in each CFL city.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
On November 2, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., we will be celebrating his life with a Wake at the house. Family and friends are welcome to come and share a story with us at this time.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the neighbors, family and friends for all their support and love during this time.
