VICTORIA (VICKIE) ELLCHUK

It is with sadness that the family of Vickie Ellchuk announce her passing on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the age of 80 years, at St. Boniface Hospital. Vickie was born in Sandy Lake on December 15, 1938 to Mary and Nick Ellchuk.
She is survived by her sister Violet (Alfred) Bretecher and brother Dennis, also six nieces and nephews and nine grandnieces and nephews.
She attended Providence School until grade nine, then went on to Sandy Lake Collegiate to complete her grade 12. She went to Teacher's College and was an elementary school teacher for many years starting in Silver Ridge before moving on to Sandy Lake and Shilo. She really enjoyed her teaching career before retiring in Brandon.
She loved to travel to different countries, especially Cuba. She enjoyed swimming, reading, playing Crib and she excelled at playing Bridge. She really loved flowers and plants, and had quite the green thumb. Her home was always filled with many plants. She enjoyed watching them grow and knowing all their names. In 2012 she moved to Winnipeg where she really enjoyed her spacious apartment, the pool and her many friends.
A very special thanks goes to her good friend Teresa and her cousins, Elaine and Archie, for all their help.
Cremation has taken place and the interment will be at the Sandy Lake Cemetery in summer 2020.
