SOPHIE JEAN WILKIE

We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear Sophie Jean Wilkie on June 12, 2019 at the amazing age of 107. She was in good health up to her final days, and would always light up when friends or relatives visited.
Born Sophie Kula on February 18, 1912 in Highland Glen, Manitoba, Jean married her husband Malcolm in Winnipeg in 1940. They moved to Vancouver in the 1940s where she worked in high-end clothing sales at Germaines. Here she met many dignitaries, including Pierre Trudeau. She lived most of her life downtown Vancouver and her final years at the Kinsmen Centre in Delta, BC. Jean dedicated her life to Christian Science and did not have a GP until the age of 101. Jean's cheerful smile and "whatever" comments will be dearly missed.
