PATRICK (PADDY) MARTIN
July 18, 1948 - November 2, 2019
Pat is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Nancy, daughters, Ryleigh Martin and Danielle Gould, son-in-law Miles Gould, granddaughters, Lyla and Paige, and his brother Rick (Debbie).
Pat was predeceased by his father Gordon, mother Mary, and brother John (Gail).
Pat grew up in St. Vital, attended Glenlawn Collegiate, then went on to earn a degree in Civil Engineering at the U of M in 1970. Pat spent over 40 years working for the Provincial Government, specifically with the office of conservation. The pride of his career was his extensive work on the walking and biking trails throughout the Whiteshell Provincial Park.
Pat's happy place was his home on the Red River, as well as the family cabin on West Hawk Lake. Pat was a lover of the outdoors and most of his days were spent gardening, fishing, golfing, and "rendering" on the dock/deck while sipping a glass of wine, surrounded by his favourite people.
Paddy faced life and death with courage and kindness. We are so lucky to have known Pat. He will always be missed and reminisced as "forever a young guy".
A "Party for Paddy" will be held on November 28 at 5:00 p.m., at the St. Boniface Golf Club.
The family would like to thank Dr. Joel Geingrich and Cheryl Greaves of CancerCare Manitoba for their never ending hope and support, as well as the amazing staff at St. Boniface Palliative unit.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Paddy to CancerCare Manitoba.

My condolences to Nancy and family. I owe much to Pat as back in the early 70’s he inspired me to give Engineering a try and for that and his friendship of many years I will be forever grateful. Pat was also a fellow alumni of the Buzzards ball hockey team and one of the best defencemen in the league despite his wonky knee. I will miss him and remember all the good times had. - Posted by: Doug Anthony (old friend) on: Nov 16, 2019

Our sincere sympathy to Nancy, Ryleigh, Danille, Miles, Lyla and Paige. Pat was a fellow student at Windsor and Glenlawn and also a good neighbour to my family for many years. - Posted by: Jim Flower and Kathleen Flower (Neighbour) on: Nov 09, 2019
I knew Pat in younger years. Delivered newspapers to his family home on Avondale for several years. Always loved their Lab hunting dog. I was a year behind Pat in school but knew him through days at Glenlawn. Always thought of him as a nice guy. Sorry to hear of his passing. - Posted by: Bob Beavis (Childhood friend) on: Nov 09, 2019
I'm going to miss that boy...and so will a lot of other people. Always a joy to talk to and very inclusive in all his going's on! Tagged me Tourmac and I wore that moniker as a badge of golf honor. Farewell old bud! - Posted by: Donald Tomac (Buddy!) on: Nov 09, 2019
My sincere condolences to Nancy and her family. I will always hold dear the good times we shared at work and while playing numerous rounds of golf. Unlike mine, Pat's drives were long and straight. Your first NINE is now complete Pat. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Roger Leuzinger (Friend and Co-Worker for many years) on: Nov 09, 2019
