JAMES (JIM) MILTON MOORE
February 22, 1931 - November 5, 2019

It is with great sadness that we share the news that James (Jim) Milton Moore died suddenly on November 5, 2019.
Sharing the grief of his loss are his wife, Heather Moore, his children and their partners, Marilyn Brick, Susan Moore, Robert Moore, Chris Moore (Jan) and Cindy Baron. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Steven, Janelle, Melissa, Maureen, Sarah, Carter, Ashton, Michael, Catherine, Andrew, Jennifer and Thomas, his great-grandchildren, Janek, Sean, Violet, Kalum, Daniel, Serena and Everett, his living brothers, Bill Moore, Monsignor Michael Moore and Bernard Moore, and many neighbours and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Janet Moore, his mother and father, Jeanette and Milton Moore, brothers, Peter, Tom, Joe, Paul and Phillip, and his sister, Janet Moore.
Born and raised in Winnipeg he attended St. Ignatius School and Kelvin High School. While working at Winnipeg Hydro he studied hard to attain his designation as a First Class Power Engineer. This provided him with many opportunities to work in progressively more demanding positions at the ESSO Refinery in Winnipeg, Hudson Bay, and, later as Chief Engineer at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg Convention Centre, and finishing his career at Winnipeg Municipal Hospital.
He was always a hard worker and giving of his time and energy to others. We all share many good memories of his dedication to doing "a job right the first time". He was happiest at his cottage at Ingolf, Ontario, or when he had a project to do.
We are grateful that he lived a good life that was full of health, love and purpose. We will miss his mentorship, guidance, smile and love.
As a result of his tutoring his children and grandchildren all boost very good crib playing skills. Many a friendly game was ended with him being a "loonie" richer.
Prayers will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, on Tuesday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 3597 Main Street, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13 with a reception to follow at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, people are asked to make a donation to their charity of choice.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I'm so sorry for my aunt Heather and cousins loss of such a gentle soul. I was able to see him at my stepmother Joanne Moore's funeral and though I didn't get to talk to him very much I was able to give him a quick hug and tell him how good it was to see him and that I loved him. He will be missed. - Posted by: Gladys Carson (Neice) on: Nov 12, 2019

  • For many years I lived next door to Heather and Jim. I have always been a good friend of Heather's and came to know Jim through Heather. He will be missed. Much love to Heather at this time. - Posted by: Rebecca Drain (Friend & Neighbor) on: Nov 09, 2019

  • Our Sincere Sympathies. You are in our thoughts and prayers.. - Posted by: Martha/Don trudeau (friends of Chris and Jan) on: Nov 09, 2019
