FELIPE PEREZ
July 17, 1950 - November 4, 2019
Felipe was born in Malinao Albay, Philippines the first of nine children to Maximino and Emiteria Perez. His siblings: Noami, Maria (Rey), Veronica (Loloy), Cleotilde, Maximino Jr. (Jocelyn), Placida, Mark (Lyn) and Lucam (Maryann).
Felipe came to Canada at the age of 22 years in July 1973 and began his lifelong effort to help family. In 1976, at a social which Felipe loved to attend, he met the love of his life, Lydia Estanislao, whose courtship was described by Lydia as long phone conversations that were difficult to end, shy yet affectionate, always a gentleman who always held her hand. They were married 2 years later in 1978.
They were blessed with their sons, Philip and Neal. He sponsored his sister Maria in 1976. In 1983 Felipe sponsored and brought to Canada his parents and three youngest siblings.
He started work as a Winnipeg Transit bus driver in 1980 and retired in 2009. He was a proud member of the Philippine Amateur Golf Association (PAGAM). He was well known for his Tony Bennet, Matt Monroe and Frank Sinatra karaoke numbers. He was our family's confidant - trusted, kept people's secrets and honoured a promise.
Lydia would like to thank her family and friends that helped Felipe throughout the course of his illness. Also to Felipe's cousin Diane whose devotion to Felipe's care during his illness was undeniable.
He was predeceased by his father, mother, and son Neal.
A funeral service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 355 Andrews St. on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.

Sadly, I / we will miss your company at our next DWCL-HS ‘67 Class Reunion in Legazpi City, Philippines. ‘Twas great having you as my classmate, and I am happy to have had spent some time with you and your family, albeit a short one, at our Class’ 50th Anniversary Reunion.
