It is with great sadness and heartache that we announce the passing of Hermes F. Ribeiro at 5:38 a.m., on November 11, 2019 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 85. Hermes was born on January 7, 1934 in Castelo do Lindoso, Portugal.
He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Maria da Conceicao Dias Pereira Ribeiro; his granddaughter Melissa Bella Ribeiro; his parents, Manuel Serafim Ribeiro and Ana Fernandes Pica; his sister and brothers.
He will be leaving behind his children, Walter (Rosa), Juliet Miguel (Jose), Roger (Bina) and Grace Santos (Paul); along with all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Our father immigrated from Portugal in 1957, he later returned back to Portugal to marry the love of his life, Maria. Our parents were married in 1959 and returned to Canada in 1962. He will always be remembered for his sense of humour, his compassion and the wild stories that he loved to share with his grandchildren.
Prayers will be held on Friday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m., at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m., at the church as well, with Father Andre Luiz de Paula Lico.

Although you are gone,
You are not forgotten,
And remain in our hearts forever.
We love you.
Till we meet again,
Rest in Peace.
Sempre Amado mas nunca esquecido
Descansa em paz.
