Condolences & Memories (1 entries)
Just a note to express my deepest condolences on Bill’s death. Bill was a classmate in High School where he was an exceptional student. His two sisters Jessie and Irene were also much admired and enjoyed in all activities at Knox United Church. A brief memory of a comment by Bill relating to a theme in a story we had read in English class about a US citizen, a kidnapped person in a foreign country whose passport had been stolen by a family who needed to get their son safely relocated to the US. The kidnapped person was kept locked up by the family until the son was able to get to America using the stolen passport. Once released, the kidnapped person did not go to the police to tell about his confinement, but simply reported to the authorities that his passport had been lost. Bill's summation as to the theme was , “ Return not evil for evil, but overcome evil with good “. I have never forgotten Bill’s comment nor the story. - Posted by: Connie Costanzo (High School friend from Fort Frances) on: Nov 15, 2019
