WALTER HUGHES LOHR
June 21, 1939 - November 11, 2019
Walter was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Violet, and his brother Marty.
A hard worker who always provided for his family, Wally was a truck driver for most of his working years. First with Motorways, then Beaver Bus Lines as a school bus driver.
He was an avid Bomber and Jets fan who loved cars, his garden, his pets and his "peace and quiet". Wally was a genuine character, what you see is what you get. He was well known for his no nonsense attitude and was lovingly teased by his family for his grouchy demeanour. We were all familiar with the exasperated look we so often received, but knew his bark was worse than his bite. Over the years and especially his last few weeks in hospital, we saw a rare tenderness in him. He was a strong and brave man who touched many lives.
Rest in peace dear Hyme. We love you.

I meet Wally back in the 70's when we moved in next door to the Lohr family. I planted my garden in the spring, and i was doing cucumbers planted on a hill. The next day I went out to the garden and there were tiny plastic soldiers and tanks all over my hill! Then in the late summer where i had planted pumpkin seeds and had lots of greenery but no pumpkins to speak of, there looked like nice pumpkins all of a sudden! Wally had painted bowling balls orange and strategically placed them in my lushes greenery! He was a character! My boys grew up with his 3 sons and to this day are good friends.
