Joe Lucas is remembered by Don and Marcia Shalley, as a sharing, welcoming and interested person and this is through our association with Ted and Helen Revak, Ted is Joe's brother-in-law. From the early days, Joe was always interested in what you have been up to! We were building a cabin with Ted's expertise and needed building materials and Joe had remodelled and had windows galore and offered his windows. What a blessing and the cabin was completed! Joe was a most welcoming person, always interested in you and wanting to chat or provide an update! Marcia and Don live in Regina and their visits to Winnipeg, will visit Joe and attended his 100 Birthday Party! We'll miss you Joe! - Posted by: Don William Shalley (Friend) on: Nov 22, 2019

I am so glad to have known Mr Lucas for my entire life. Growing up next door to him, we got to share a bond that helped shape my life. He was always there with a smile, and always had time to chat with a sometimes, mischievous brat. His tidbits of wisdom and advice still resonate .I was so happy and proud to take part in his 100th Birthday recently. We had not seen each other in over 30 years. Mr Lucas astounded me by asking about my life and career in Gimli. Obviously, he was keeping tabs still, on the "brat" next door! The world says Farewell to an amazing Man! - Posted by: Dave Humniski (Former neighbour) on: Nov 21, 2019
