HELEN TRICK
October 22, 1918 - November 18, 2019

Peacefully, after a long and active life, Helen Trick passed away on November 18, 2019, a month after her 101st birthday. She was very ready to rejoin husband Dick, son John, parents, Jack and Ethel, all her siblings, and many other friends and family who had gone before.
She will be mourned and missed by son James, daughter-in-law Anne, daughter Margaret and son-in-law Bob Sullivan, as well as grandchildren, Leah (Geoff) Roth and Rob (Amber) Sullivan, and great-grandchildren, Jazmyne, Hayden and Jordyn Sarota-Sullivan and Lillian Roth; also cousins, many nieces and nephews and friends.
Helen was born in 1918 to Jack and Ethel Sheldon, one of seven children. In 1941 she married Richard (Dick) Trick and when he returned home after the war, they farmed in the Stonewall area and raised three children. Mom was a great homemaker and excellent seamstress, baker, cook and crafter, and enjoyed sharing the fruits of those labours with family and friends. In 1966, Mom and Dad retired to the town of Stonewall where Mom added gardening, bowling and new friendships to her life. She most enjoyed being a grandmother and spent many hours with Leah and Rob, making dinosaur costumes and special birthday cakes. After Dad's passing in 1986, Mom was able to do some travelling with the family and gave us wonderful memories. She moved to Lion's Manor in 2003 and enjoyed the many activities offered there as well as her grandchildren's marriages and her four great-grandchildren. She celebrated her 90th, 95th, and 100th birthdays in style and so appreciated everyone who came to be with her.
Over the past several months her health began to fail and she spent the last two months in hospital. The family is grateful to home care and Stonewall Hospital staff, and especially thanks neighbours Audrey and Ken and nieces, Joyce and Bernice for their faithful friendship to Mom over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall.
