RENEE (RENIA) ROSENZWEIG
December 27, 1927 - October 3, 2019

Born in Lodz, Poland, the third youngest of 10, Renee at 12 years old and her brother Max (deceased) were the only surviving members of their family who perished in the Holocaust. Renee was the epitome of a Yiddisha Mama, with a cool modernity. She had a profound effect of happiness on others while in her presence - a gentle warrior, who managed each hurdle in life with grace and positivity. Her inner beauty radiated to the surface with a regalness until her very last breath.
Renee's last act was so indicative of how she lived her life - brave, serene, at peace with whatever lay ahead. She taught by example. How fortunate we were as a family to have the privilege of being by Renee's side for her final journey, just as she was for her late husband Mooni. To care for those who once cared for us is one of life's highest honours.
Renee will forever remain in the hearts and minds of her two daughters, Ruthy and Libbi, her grandchildren, Mika and Yaron, and her great-grandchildren, Sunny Rae, Lyla Moon and Micah; whose family traditions will be celebrated around Baba's dining room table for generations to follow. L'Dor Vador - from Generation to Generation.
Donations in memory of Renee may be made to Gwen Secter Creative Living Centre, 1588 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB R2V 1Y3.
