GARY STELTER
He was predeceased by his father Benjamin, mother May, brothers, David and Benny, father-in-law Albert Liske, sister-in-law Jane Liske, and his infant daughter Corry Lee.
He is forever cherished by his wife Carol (nee Liske), of 48 years, his children, Gary Jr. (Brandy), Kelly (Steve), David, and granddaughters, Ella and Sadie. He's also survived by his brother Norman (Bev), sister Sharon (Chris), nieces, Kim, Lesley and Joy, nephew Malcolm, great-nieces, Jayda and Delanie, and mother-in-law Frieda Liske.
Dad was born on October 18, 1951 in Sundre, Alberta. He grew up on the farm and eventually joined the R.C.M.P. He was transferred to Roblin, Manitoba, where he soon met Carol. He married Mom and in 1973 moved to Winnipeg, where he took employment as a private investigator at World Investigation Services. He eventually bought the company with partners Craig Brown and Cordell Smith and remained there until his passing.
Dad never sought fame, fortune or human accolade. He spent his entire life serving God and others. He was extremely loving, humble and caring. There are many stories of Dad's generosity and selflessness. Dad loved Jesus more than anything. He lived life as a living testament as to how one should live according to the will of God. Never ashamed and never compromising. Dad took amazing care of his family. He worked long and hard all these years to make sure we all had enough. He was a great husband and father. Dad would encourage us in our faith by saying, "It's not how you start the race, it's how you finish".
A come and go celebration of Dad's life will take place on Saturday, November 30 between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Services, 2146 Main Street. Lunch will be provided.
'If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.' Romans 10:9

Carol & children, We want to say how sad we are to hear of the passing of Gary, husband , dad , grandpa . Life is full of love and fun and family. These are the memories that will help sustain you and hold you and keep you. Our paths crossed so very often as young children playing together on the farm , again as young mommies with children in the same school and now in this time of sorrow. Our very sincere condolences and prayers to your family. Hugs to you. Bernice (Zimmer) & Edward Zorn. - Posted by: Bernice (Zimmer) Zorn ( childhood/ young mom friend ) on: Nov 29, 2019

So sad to hear of your loss. I knew Gary for many years when I worked as an investigator and process server for World. I knew Gary to be a proud husband and father and someone who worked hard to care for his family. I can see him in my minds eye - rushing into the office, bulging attaché case in one hand and a Timmies in the other, documents or folders tucked under an arm and talking fast as tries to cram in some dictation or return some calls before rushing out again. For Carol, Gary Jr, Kelly, David and the rest of the family, I know Gary’s passing will have left an immense hole in your hearts. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. - Posted by: Brian P (Former employee) on: Nov 28, 2019

I've "worked" with Gary through World Investigation for years ... we always had a great conversation as we shared personal life stories during our "work" calls -- he always made me smile as we shared stories to brighten up tough days. We had the opportunity to share tea once when he knocked at our door as he was researching a service. Coincidence or not - had a lovely visit with him and his wife. We shared a few emails after his diagnosis and yes - a strong man of faith who left a beautiful legacy in his family. Condolences and prayers to you all... - Posted by: Donna R (Work related) on: Nov 26, 2019

I am so sorry for your loss. I miss him so much at work so I can't even begin to imagine how much he is missed at home by you all. He was such a hard worker and always got the job done. So many clients would ask for him as they knew what a strong work ethic he had. He loved his family so much, spoke of them often at work and always proudly shared pictures of his Granddaughters. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Janell - Posted by: Janell Smith (workmate) on: Nov 26, 2019
