LOUISE CHARLOTTE THOMASINYA
DUBLIN (EWASHKIW)

Louise passed away peacefully at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour on November 19, 2019, with family at her side, aged 88 years.
Louise was born July 9, 1931 to the late Anne Koryk (Dublin) and Alex Dublin of Transcona. She married the late Lenard Ewashkiw in 1959 of Sault Ste. Marie, where they lived and together managed the Arthur Murray dance Studio. Louise was a great ballroom dancer and won many competitions and had the opportunity to instruct some famous people during this chapter of her life.
Louise is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Desirie (David) Kirkcaldy, Kathy (John) Wiens and Tammy Holland (Murray Cutmore); four grandchildren, Jennifer Defir, Jessalyn Cahill, Aimelou Wiens and Benjamin Wiens; and her four great-grandchildren.
Louise moved back to Manitoba in 1964 after her marriage dissolved and settled in the Tyndall, Beausejour area. In order to provide for her three girls as a single mom, Louise took a Job at Northern Blower in Winnipeg, as a spot welder. She was the first female welder they had ever employed. To accommodate her needs certain bathroom times were set aside for her use only. When Northern Blower closed, she moved to EH Price Limited where she worked until she retired. However, at home she still danced up a storm with her beloved girls every chance she got.
Louise had a life-long love of horses, especially the appaloosa horse and was working on breeding the perfect Canadian sports horse. Every filly and foul born were perfect, but became family pets, as Louise never had the heart to sell any of them. Her daughters have been bestowed her love of dance, nature and art, and will hold fond memories of full moon horse rides and dancing in the rain.

Mom's special quotes were:
"Love many, trust few.
Always paddle your own canoe."

"Life is like a sheet of snow, careful where you go, cause every step will show."

Louise asked her daughters to celebrate her passing with a toast. She preferred no funeral or viewing as she wanted loved ones to remember her as she was.
In lieu of flowers or cards, she asked to consider surprise gifts at the till of a grocery check out line when you see a young single mom who may be struggling. She remembers unexpected help from strangers in her lifetime and always said they were angels in disguise.
The family thanks Dr. Vanrensburg and all of the wonderful staff of East Gate Lodge for the kindness and great care provided to their mom Louise in her final life chapter.
