COLLEEN STASTOOK
(MURPHY)
1949 - 2019

Memories are like starlight...
They go on forever

On Friday, November 22, 2019 the angels took Colleen home to her eternal rest; her husband by her side.
She was predeceased by her special mother Lil (Elizabeth) Kryschuk (nee Murphy, Gray), father Russell Murphy, her dear aunt Shirley Hoffman and brother Barry, as well as in-laws Peter and Minnie Stastook.
Surviving her are her dearly loved, cherished and best friend, Terry; children: Todd (Ann), granddaughters, Makayla and Elizabeth; Tara, grandchildren, Alexa and Parker; sister Heather (Brian) Jacques; brother James (Jocelyn) Murphy; sister-in-law Peggy Murphy, their children, and grandchildren; Terry's brother Bryan (Susan) and sister Gwen (Mike) and their children.
Colleen was born on July 21, 1949 the second of four children. She always felt extremely blessed to have had an amazing mother who made so many sacrifices to provide for her brothers and sister. She considered her to be a real treasure.
She resided in Transcona until her marriage to Terry, her best friend and childhood sweetheart on August 8, 1970.
Terry and Colleen were blessed with two children, Todd (1975) and Tara (1978) whom they loved, cherished and supported in all their endeavours. Todd and Tara gave them great joy as well as more than a few grey hairs.
Colleen enjoyed her career with M.T.S. until an unexpected and tragic turn of events which rendered her unable to return to work. Her life became one of debilitating, chronic pain.
Colleen always cherished her family and all their special times together including many family dinners.
The grandkids, especially Alexa and Parker, gave her life new meaning and purpose, allowing her to interact and share some of life's special moments with them as well as their everyday lives. They were truly a blessing to both her and Terry.
Terry always stood by Colleen's side in good times and bad, giving her strength, encouragement, support and constant love. When faced with many health challenges, he gave her a reason to go on for which she was forever grateful. She always considered herself extremely blessed to have him.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service held due to Colleen's request.
Rather than flowers, please do something kind for someone else.
