HUGO ROLAND DETTMAN
May 1, 1931 - December 1, 2019
He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Coralie May (Evans); parents, Roland and Laura Dettman, sister Eunice, and brothers, Gerald and Owen Dettman.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Heather, Clara (Joel), Elaine, and grandchildren, Laura and Kristen. He also leaves behind sisters-in-law, Alice, Evie, Irene and Betty, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Hugo was an Industrial Electrician that worked on several major construction projects, including the Distant Early Warning (DEW) Line and hydroelectric power facilities. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers since 1956. He was a man who had many interests and was always willing to help when his family and friends needed assistance.
As per Hugo's wishes, cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Selkirk Regional Health Centre Medicine 1 Unit for their care of Hugo during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
