With heavy hearts, we had to say good-bye to our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
Deen was born on February 3, 1947 in West Bromwich, England. She and her family moved to Canada when Deen was a young girl. Deen graduated from the University of Manitoba with her teaching degree. Her career was dedicated working with youth and their families. Deen loved helping others overcome any of their obstacles. In recent years, Deen retired in High River, AB to be closer to her daughter, Kate and grandson, Ryan.
After a long illness, Deen passed away peacefully with family at her side, on November 30, 2019.
She will be missed by her children: Karen (John) Laurie, Kate (Patrick) Landry, Johnny (Holly) DeGueldre, Matt Fellows and her grandchildren: David, Ryan, Gabriel, Hannah and Maggie.
At Deen's request, a small gathering of her family will be held to celebrate her life.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My deepest condolences to all of you (both her children and grandchildren). Your mother and grandmother was one special person. She had a heart that was larger than life and soul as pure as an angel. Deen was a large part of my life and a friend you could always count on. I will miss her calls, voice and her outlook on life. She was a free spirit with energy of a child. It is funny how you think that this will never happen and you will never have to say good bye and then it hits you like a boulder. What I know is that I am grateful I had the opportunity to meet her, spend time with her, learn from her and laugh with her about all the things life has to offer. Her memory will always remain alive in so many people's minds. Deen, go high up on the mountain it is now your time to rest and wait for the rest of us. See you soon Cyndi and Brad - Posted by: Cyndi Schotchenko (Friend) on: Dec 07, 2019
