IRENE RENATE JAEGER
Irene was born in Germany on September 10, 1943. She came to Canada in 1953 with her parents, Robert and Emma Jantz (nee Schultz), her brothers, Erwin, Albert and Willi, and her sister Helene.
Irene married August Jaeger on September 22, 1961. She is survived by her husband; by her children, Monica (Peter) Blaha, Vera (Alex) Omsen, Heidi Van Delden, Paul Jaeger; and by her three adoring grandchildren, Alex, Jordan and Ella.
Irene loved the Lord, her family and her garden, especially her flowers. She enjoyed studying scripture, spending time with her family, and warm sunny days in her garden. During the last year of her life, Irene bravely battled cancer and lived graciously with it until the very end. By inspiring and teaching us, she won her battle with cancer in other very important ways. She was a wonderful role model right to the end. Irene often expressed her gratitude to her many caregivers, and the family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to her palliative nurse Anita and to the staff at Riverview Health.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral service on Tuesday, December 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman Ave., Winnipeg. Lunch and fellowship to follow in the church basement. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
In memory of Irene, donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
