MARGARET GRAY BELL
(nee MCINTOSH)
1929 - 2019

Much loved mother to Louise (Jim) and Ken (Gail). Grandmother to Jane (Carla), Jack (Dusty), Craig (Elise), and great-grandmother to Bentley, Wylie and anticipated new baby.
She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Jack E. G. Bell (1980) and her parents, Florence and William McIntosh. Mom was the last surviving member of 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by brother-in-law Robert Bell and sister-in-law Joyce Little, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mom worked at Bank of Montreal, Portage and Main branch after high school. Mom and Dad were married in 1947 and eventually moved into their home on Alboro Street where they raised Louise and Ken and a menagerie of pets and animals. Their home was a warm and inviting place for family get-togethers and Sundays on their front lawn for neighbours to gather and socialize. They loved weekend fishing trips, curling bonspiels and snowmobiling with friends. Mom and Dad travelled extensively in the winter months.
Mom worked for over 30 years for the family business, Bell's Welding in Headingley. She worked alongside her husband, son and grandson until her retirement. Mom loved her home and yard and took great pride in both. She was a member of the Headingley United Church for 75 years and enjoyed their many social gatherings. Mom was very athletic and competed at golf, bowling and curling. She was very proud of her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to cheer and support their many activities. She found great joy in watching her great-grandsons grow, always attending family gatherings and celebrations. Mom loved her family and we will miss her.
Many thanks to the caring staff at the Charleswood Care Centre.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Charles Headingley United Church, 110 Bridge Road in Headingley on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
Memory donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

  • It is very sad for me that the last of my mother's siblings has now passed away. I have many good memories of visiting with Margaret & family when I was young. She was a delight to talk to until the last year or so when her health deteriorated. My Condolences to her family. - Posted by: Marlene Mackenzie (Niece ) on: Dec 07, 2019
