Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • The untimely sudden departure of my childhood friend Denise is a very sad shock to myself and all of my family. I was the best friend of Denise in childhood and in my teenage years and I remember walking in the heavy but soft summer rain in Winnipeg as young teenagers (circa 1967), with Denise and her pet German shepherd dog Domino. We certainly had a fun time but we ruined our recently done expensive hair style salon creations! Over the years I stayed in contact and wrote and I would call on Denise when the family visited Winnipeg. After I graduated as a Registered Nurse from Red River Community College, and my husband Richard Synenko graduated with a Juris Doctor in Law degree we moved to Calgary. I got a job at Calgary General Hospital on the surgical unit and Richard graduated from Law School in Manitoba in 1977 and joined Alberta Justice as a Crown Prosecutor. I still however kept in touch with Denise by letter and visits to Winnipeg to the very end. Denise was a kind, sensitive and friendly "old soul". She had very deep feelings for all living things and the whole world was her concern. She was one in a million and I and my family will sorely miss her beautiful spirit and her special "zest for life" and "jois de vivre". Denise and her adventurous spirit, changed the world for the better. Rest in peace Denise in the arms of the Angels, my dear friend. Your eternal and loving friend Carol Jane Synenko RN (Nee Carol Jane Orysiuk). - Posted by: Carol Synenko (Friend) on: Jan 07, 2020

  • Ron, I am so sorry to hear of Denise's passing. After I got married, we lost touch. I had heard at one time that she'd been going through some rough times. I can only hope that she found some peace. Growing up together has left me with some very fond memories. - Posted by: Betty Vanderbeek (Cap) (friend) on: Jan 05, 2020

  • Denise, I sure loved the many times we spent together, sharing music, conversation, life memories, and such. And you sure loved the YouTube facilities (on my smartphone) that let you see our favourite artists in music videos like never before. We had great plans for more times together, including Bible studies, especially with you having a very desirable new apartment. Alas, I am missing you greatly, and I will always cherish the memories. - Posted by: Hartmut W Sager (Close friend) on: Dec 15, 2019

  • Ron and Pat, I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family. - Posted by: Dena Fabian (Friend) on: Dec 14, 2019
