BERYL M. BOUVETTE
1933 - 2019
Beryl was born in Grand Maris, Manitoba into a very musical family. She was a familiar figure alongside Reg Bouvette (Road House Band) and in later years played with her family in the Knott Band. She made many friends and travelled extensively throughout Canada and the USA where she touched the lives of many. Beryl was also a proud Metis woman and served for several years on the board of Manitoba Metis Child and Family services as an Elder and on the Board of Aboriginal Senior Resource Centre. Over the years she has sincerely cared about everyone who crossed paths with her and in spite of her own adversities she maintained a positive attitude about life. Her warm smile, her sharp wit, her music and caring nature is a legacy that she leaves behind.
She will be truly missed by her children, Vallrie (Lorne) Hemphill and Ramonda Frisk-Budd; special grandson Clayton Frisk, Timothy Frisk, Belinda Frisk, Eric (Brenda) Frisk; sisters, Fern Wood and Marcella (Doc) Vezina; sister-in-law Emily Knott; stepsisters, Sandy Coderre and Patty Knott; stepbrother Wilf Knott Jr.; stepdaughters, Val and Elaine; daughter-in-law Krys; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Beryl was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Christina Knott; daughter Kathy Scherban; son-in-law Archie Budd; brothers, Tommy and Conrad Knott; sisters, Viola Knott and Muriel Mackelson; first husband Ray Frisk, and her second husband Reg Bouvette.
A Celebration of Life in Beryl's honour will be held at the East St. Paul #215 Legion, 215 Maxwell King Drive, on Friday, December 20, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Music will be provided by a few musicians and family.
The family would like to thank all staff at the Luther Home, for their kindness, respectful care and support they provided for Beryl.
Interment will be held at a later date in Grand Marais, MB.

I’ve known Beryl since the mid-70s and she was like a second mom to me through my teens. I enjoyed many a gig playing with Beryl and Reg and we had a lot of good times at bingo and the horse races. RIP and play some tunes up there with your “hon.” ❤️ - Posted by: Patti Kusturok (Friend) on: Dec 14, 2019
Every time I play Ramoli I will think of Beryl. She loved the game. In later years (when Alzheimer's was setting in) she would say every time " when did you guys learn this game". She will be missed. Condolences to the family. - Posted by: Bernice Cardinal (Family friend) on: Dec 14, 2019
I will always remember Beryl as a friend and good rhythm guitar player & organizer playing alongside her late husband Reg Bouvette and the rest of the band at the Club LaVerendrye along with my late husband Paul who so enjoyed playing with them all whenever he could. They had a solid group of good musicians for old time dance music where the dancefloor was always full to capacity with regular followers who loved to dance. Another good soul gone but will never be forgotten. RIP Beryl.... - Posted by: Mona Sala Desjarlais (Friend) on: Dec 14, 2019
