HELEN TANASICHUK
(nee DUBEK)
April 29, 1932 - December 7, 2019
She was predeceased by her husband Matt; parents, Annie and Mike; brother Metro; and friend Sandra Pardoski.
She is sorely missed by her daughters, Dianne and Lila; sister and brother-in-law Rose and Bob LaPonder; niece Tammy and husband Costas Piliotis; and great-nieces, Rose and Chrissa Piliotis; and cousins, Mary Rubeniuk and Jean Parypa.
Helen was fluent in Ukrainian and English. She grew up on the family farm in Grandview, Manitoba; working very hard, gathering eggs, plucking chickens, tending gardens, canning fruits and vegetables, and milking cows before and after school. Helen sewed, knitted, crocheted and cooked from an early age.
Helen moved to town when she married Matt. For 25 years she worked at Grandview School as a cleaner.
Helen belonged to the Grandview Nimble Thimbles Quilting Club. She created many beautiful quilts and generously gifted them to family and friends.
When she was 85, Helen moved to Winnipeg. She will be remembered as a kind and generous person. Remember, "Love is what you do."
