ROBIN WADE ELRICK
January 21, 1953 – December 15, 2019

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Rob, at the age of 66, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Rob was born in Eriksdale, Manitoba.
He was predeceased by his dad in 1990. Rob leaves behind Diane, his loving and devoted wife of 39 years; as well as his three beautiful daughters, Jennifer, Stephanie and Vanessa, who meant the world to him and who loved him beyond measure. He also leaves behind his mom Rose; sisters, Wendy (Fred), Heather (Colin), Lisa (Rory); his sister-in-law Margaret (Dave); brothers-in-law, Iain (Kim), Brian (Terry), nephews and nieces, his best friend Dave, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and his loyal pups, Chase (his man-dog), Bryn, Duke and Page.
Rob grew up in Winnipeg (Fort Garry) and moved to British Columbia with Diane in 1981. Rob was an undeniably hard worker, his 45 year long career in the sign industry started with labour positions then ownership in Manitoba, and when he started at Atlas Sign and Awning in British Columbia it was only a matter of time before he was running it. He just celebrated 25 years of ownership with his two business partners. Rob had a passion for car racing, working many all-nighters with Dave and their crew, and then going to the races to watch his cars win. He loved to play guitar and was a genius at building amps. He had a great collection of both. Rob's sense of humour was not for the faint of heart, but you knew when he found something funny by his loud, infectious laugh.
We would like to thank the Abbotsford Cancer Centre and Langley Memorial Hospital for their care. We are most grateful to the nurses at the Abbotsford Hospital Day Care for their compassion and care for Rob during his many visits.
We will always remember how he fought this disease with courage, humour and a fierce never-give-up outlook. We will forever cherish our time with Rob and all the wonderful memories we have of him. He will be missed more than words can express. You suffered for too long. May you finally rest in peace.
A private family burial will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019. A separate Celebration of Life will be held in January, 2020, to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the SPCA.
