FREDERICK GOODCHILD, JR.
March 22, 1947 - December 11, 2019
Fred was born on March 22, 1947, in Kenora, Ontario.
In 1967, he attended Bomber camp and was recruited by Hugh Campbell at Whitworth College. Following this recruitment, Fred was involved in a car accident, hurting his back, and he was unable to return to football. He then began a successful career in sales working for Mercedes, Frontier Toyota and Transcona Trailer Sales.
It was while working at Frontier Toyota that Fred met Coreen. On July 23, 2019, these newlyweds celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
When he retired in 2013, it was with one goal in mind...GOLF...golf all summer here in Winnipeg and all winter in Arizona.
One of his greatest joys was watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Imagine how happy Fred was when he got to see the Bombers win the Grey Cup!
Fred is survived by the love of his life and partner in life, Coreen Goodchild; daughter Dayna; Grandchildren, Brennan, Kaelan, Tristan, Connor, Lindsay and Murrin; and great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Caspien.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Frederick Goodchild, Sr. and brother Arthur Leydier.
A celebration of Fred's life will be held when the golf course opens...of course!
FRED, YOUR HUGS WILL BE MISSED....
