THOMAS KIBSEY

Thomas Kibsey passed away in peace at the Riverview Health Centre at the incredible age of 89. Those who knew him would recall him often saying, "Don't worry about me, I'm going for 100!"
Born in Inwood, MB, Dad met the love of his life, Adeline Rose Wozny and they had two beautiful girls, Corrine and Jennifer. He was a father, brother, uncle, neighbour and friend that everyone could depend on. He lived by the motto, "Family comes first". His greatest loves were Adeline and his two daughters and sons-in-law, Corrine (Jeff Runquist) and Jennifer (Kevin Chudy), and as time went on he was blessed to become a Grandpa to Jessica, Avery, Karisse, Miller and Amy. He was the BEST Grandpa you could ask for and would go to the ends of the earth for those kids. He had a signature look and preferred to wear dress pants and a collared dress shirt and didn't own a pair of blue jeans.
Dad will be fondly remembered for his humour, strumming on his Gibson guitar, his love of country and old time Ukrainian music, making moonshine, picking mushrooms, vegetables and berries. He worked endless hours to support his family, loved hockey and CFL and listening to the Saturday night polka party on the radio. He never did get the white Cadillac he wished for so here's hoping he's driving a brand new one in the Promised Land. As we lovingly say goodbye, we know he's walking hand in hand with our mom in heaven.
The family would like to thank the residents and fantastic staff at Riverview Health Centre, 2East for all the love and support they showed Dad the past three years. You were like family to him!
A viewing was held at Glen Eden on December 19.
