Sadly, we announce the peaceful passing of Irene Stanley (nee Nackoney) at her residence on December 13, 2019.
Irene is survived by sons, Gary and Rick (Sharon) and daughter Susan as well as granddaughters Ainsleah and Erin, and extended family. She was predeceased by husband Leonard and son Glenn.
Born and raised in a large family in Brandon, MB, she moved to Winnipeg and met Leonard where they remained to raise their family.
A mass will be held Monday, December 23 at 10:30 a.m. (viewing at 9:30 a.m.) at St. John Brebeuf Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place, Winnipeg, MB. A private family interment will immediately follow.
Irene had an extremely acute love for animals big and small and nursed many an injured bird, etc. back to good health. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to remember Irene are encouraged to support the Wildlife Haven Rehab Centre, 1028 Arnould Rd., Ile des Chenes, MB R0A 0T0, or a charity of their choice.
