BROOKE NICOLA EMILY GRYSIUK
Brooke is survived by her parents, Alison and Calvin Grysiuk, older brother Kyle, maternal grandparents, Jacqueline Burnell of Winnipeg, Bruce and Valerie Burnell of Kelowna and paternal grandparents, Gloria and Michael Grysiuk.
Brooke was a perfect baby girl born on December 7, 2007. She was our real life doll with beautiful blue eyes and dimples that could melt your heart. Brooke had a larger then life personality for someone who was non-verbal and had the happiest disposition. Brooke loved music and anytime you would sing Happy Birthday her face would light up with the most infectious smile. Brooke loved princesses and has a collection of costumes from past Halloweens, with her favourite being Elsa from Frozen. It was fitting for her other favourite song to be O'Canada, since she absolutely loved hockey. In early years you could find her at the local hockey rink cheering on her big brother. Brooke is and will always be Kyle's biggest fan.
We learned quite early on in Brooke's life that she was born with a neurodegenerative disease which has never been diagnosed. Our little girl was a fighter - one of the strongest people we had ever met.
Life was not always easy, Brooke dealt with many illnesses, seizures, and surgeries but always persevered like a brave warrior and gave us the strength to face everyday. It was supposed to be our job to teach Brooke but I can honestly say she taught us more about life, patience and strength.
We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and support staff on CH5 at Health Sciences Centre Children's Hospital. Thank you for providing such exceptional care for our little girl. We truly are grateful for all the nurses who loved our Brooke and you will always be like family to us.
A special thanks to Dr. Mustapha at ACF Pediatrics St. Boniface Hospital.
Brooke's Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brooke's name to Health Sciences Centre Children's Hospital - CH5.

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)
I am so sorry that your little Angel's flight came so soon. She has probably been sitting at the head table, talking with Jesus about thoughts she wishes she had been able to convey to youse before she left. She knows how hard youse worked to keep her safe, happy and as healthy as possible. She knew and knows even more now how much her mom, dad and brother loved her. And i believe that she will be borrowing some angel wings, if hers havent grown in yet, to come peek in on her loves. To make sure you are doing ok. Maybe you have already felt her presence at times. I often asked Mat how Brooke and youse were doing. Sincerely love Leslie Chipman - Posted by: Leslie chipman crouch (Friend + mother of mat) on: Feb 05, 2020
