HELEN LEWICKI
(nee TEPLYSKE)
March 23, 1927 - December 26, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who peacefully passed away at Grace Hospice on December 26, 2019.
She leaves to mourn her two daughters, Diane and Frank Bussoli, grandchildren Kayla (Sean) and Braden Bussoli, Linda and Brian Pescitelli, grandchildren Matt (Nat), great-grandson Callum, and Tom Pescitelli. Mom was predeceased by her husband and best friend of 66 years, Morris, on January 10, 2018; as well as two infants; and parents Clifford and Victoria Teplyske (Rokosh); and brothers Peter and William.
Mom and Dad were married on June 2, 1951. They bought a home and raised their family in East Kildonan, moving later to North Kildonan and spending their final years at Concordia Village. Mom and Dad received so much help from homecare while staying there and we are so appreciative of all the wonderful people who made their day to day living so much easier. A special thank you to Mimi, Connie, Barb and Darota.
Mom and Dad loved to travel - as a family we enjoyed many road trips across Canada and the United States. In their later years Hawaii was their favorite destination and they enjoyed many winters there. Mom was an avid gardener and loved tending to her beautiful roses and many vegetables that they planted in their garden. Mom was always baking delicious cookies and cakes for her family and took pride in the beautiful cake decorating skills she acquired over the years.
Mom was born in East Selkirk, Manitoba, on March 23, 1927 and attended Happy Thoughts School. Upon completion she moved at 17 to Winnipeg and began working at Eaton's and then Robinson Little. She met dad shortly thereafter and they were married on June 2, 1951. After the arrival of her daughters, mom stayed at home and devoted her life to taking care of her family.
Mom was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2016 and was cared for by the wonderful doctors and nurses at Cancercare Manitoba. A special thank you to Dr. Rimmer and Alexis for your compassion and dedication taking care of Mom over the years.
In her last months of life Mom was taken care of by the amazing nurses in the Palliative Care Program at home and at St. Boniface Hospital and eventually was moved to Grace Hospice in her final weeks. A special thank you to Whelma and Mark at Grace Hospice who went over and above to make Mom feel comfortable.
We were very blessed to meet many Angels on earth during Mom's care. Your compassion and love for our Mom will never be forgotten.
Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will be on January 19, 2020, at Concordia Village.
If you choose, donations in memory of Mom can be made to Cancercare Manitoba.
