1923 - 2019
As the second oldest of eight children she started working at 13 and her career took her from nanny to drycleaner, store clerk, farm wife, mother, librarian and government employee.
Born in Laurier in 1923, married in 1944 and farmed in Ste. Rose du Lac until 1979 when she and Louis retired to Petersfield and their home on Netley Creek. They then moved to the Knights Centre in Selkirk, and subsequently Mom spent the last few years at Red River Place in Selkirk.
Mom was a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother - how her face lit up when she saw the little ones. She was a wonderful cook, gardener and homemaker who loved social occasions and always made you feel welcome to her home.
She will be missed by her family, Mark, Marie (Richard); grandchildren, Dale (Amy), Kolan, Lesley (Charles); great-grandchildren, Alivia, Everly, Tully and Maverick, as well as her siblings, Annette and Gilles, and many relatives and her dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street North, West St. Paul.
