VICTOR UNGER
September 8, 1929 - December 30, 2019
He will be greatly missed by his children, Art (Sharon) Unger, Fred (Kathy) Unger and Rich Unger; three grandchildren, Angela (Jeff) Clarke, Josh and Ben Unger; sister Ella Federau, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Margaret, son Victor, father Frank, mother Katharina, and sister Lisa.
Victor was born in the village of Miloradovka, Ukraine. In 1948, the Canadian government sponsored Victor to immigrate to Canada with the requirement to work on a farm for one year. After fulfilling his work agreement, Victor moved to Winnipeg where he met his wife Margaret. They were married for over 66 years, spent significant time at their cabin on Lake Winnipeg and enjoyed a full life together with their family.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at 10:30 a.m., at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, with viewing prior. Interment at Brookside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Victor's memory to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.
