August 7, 1950 - January 7, 2020

With the heaviest of hearts with family by her side we announce the passing of our dear daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, auntie and friend on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 69 years old.
She was predeceased by her husband Ron; her parents, Mike and Sonia; and very special friend Leonard Baranyk.
Helen will be lovingly remembered by our mama Mary Ash (Drobot); and in-laws, Dona (Gary), Alan (Shirly), Marie (Rob), Nick (Colleen), Dale and Charlene Drobot; the Ash family, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Helen was an only child and by marrying Ron soon had nine siblings. She made the best holopchi ever, was an excellent cook and loved to travel. She loved keeping up with the latest fashions, clothing, shoes, purses and matching accessories. You never saw her without her hair and nails done.
Helen started her career with Health and Welfare in 1968 and then retired in 2003 with Service Canada in the position of Pension Plan Program Analyst. Helen was always known for her hospitality and friendliness to both her co-workers and the public.
Special thanks to Bob and Audrey Wasnie, Heino and Betty Beans, Eleane Baranyk and families for all the love and support shown to Helen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kidney Foundation.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, with viewing at 1:00 p.m. with interment and reception to follow.

Rest in Peace, dear Helen,
you are now with the love of your life, Ron.

  • Sincere condolences to the Drobot / Ash family as you grieve the loss of Helen in your lives. I first met Helen when Ron and my husband worked for the Motor Vehicle. We had many happy times together at social events, including many breakfasts at different restaurants. Their home was always a welcome place to visit and my husband and I especially liked sharing an evening drink in their beautiful backyard. I have wonderful happy memories collected over the years by which to remember the two of them. I know that all of you, her inherited family, will find comfort in the stories and memories you each and all can share in the years ahead. I share in your grieving. Thinking of you at this sad time.
