Peacefully and surrounded by family, Margaret passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at the Victoria Hospital, at the age of 85.
Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her children, Terry, Glen, Cheryl and Debra; grandchildren, Sasha, Lena, Jason, Nicholas, Renee and Vincent; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Sean, Mia, Jonathan and Jackson. Margaret is also survived by her sisters, Jean and Alice (Les), sister-in-law Bev, as well brothers, Jim, Art (Emma), Dave (Lisa) and Tom (Connie).
Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Nora and Frank Johnston; brother Robert, her husband Allan, son Gary, daughter-in-law Gisele and grandson Lucas. Margaret will also be remembered by her late husband's surviving family.
Margaret was very proud of her home and welcomed everyone. She loved to read, sew, knit and of course bake a special batch of cookies for her grandchildren. You could always find Margaret in the garden harvesting vegetables or planting a new type of flower. While raising her family, she worked for years in the local drug store, volunteered for many organizations, always helping the neighbours and will be missed by many.
We thank the nurses and physicians at the St. Boniface and Victoria Hospitals for the excellent care.
It is with great sadness that we share of her passing.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
