JACKIE OLAFSON

It is with deepest sorrow to announce the sudden passing of Jackie Olafson, aged 79 years, in Gimli, Manitoba, on December 8, 2019.
Jackie was predeceased by her loving
husband of 57 years Keith Olafson, her
parents, Jack and Lottie Armstrong, and her twin sisters, Sonya McVicar and Sylvia Tait.
She will be greatly missed and fondly
remembered by her children, Alan Keith (Lori), Glenn Robert, Victoria, BC and
Charlene Mae (Allan), and her grandchildren, Garrett (Geneva) and Ellyse Olafson and Cole and Chase Gobert. She will be eternally
remembered by her many nieces and
nephews.
Jackie was born and raised in Winnipeg, where she met and married Keith in early 1960. Jackie had a brief career in the banking industry and other various accounting jobs throughout the years. Jackie was deeply
devoted to her raising her family, with houses in Winnipeg and Sandy Hook, the latter of which she resided permanently, starting in the early 2000's.
Jackie, a crossword genius, had many
interests including roaring games of
Scrabble, late night Sandy Hook card games, an absolute love for Elvis and Mickey Mouse, and extensive travel on many Shrine trips with the Khartum Drum & Bugle Corps.
Jackie, back in the day, was a very
accomplished 10 pin bowler, acquiring many awards, trophies and accolades.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to mom's fellow "Sandy Hookers", Erin and Andrew Good and Derek Debets, for lending a hand and looking out for her, so she was able to have her last wish, which was to remain in her wonderful home.
At Jackie's request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jackie's beautiful life will be held for family and friends this
summer, 2020.

Rest In Peace Mom -
we will forever cherish memories of your kind soul and your loving and giving ways.
