JOHN THAY RYDEN

John passed away in the early morning of January 14, 2020, at the E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, MB.
John was born in Eriksdale on September 24, 1936. He grew up in the Clydebank District and farmed there his whole life.
His is survived by his loving wife and best friend Sandra; his son Kyle and wife Carrie and grandsons, Macgregor and Jasper all of Calgary; son Paul; son Colin and granddaughter Gabryel of Eriksdale. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Mary Ryden of Eriksdale; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dave and Alice DeVos of St. Adolph, MB; along with several nieces and nephews.
John is predeceased by his parents, Cliff and Jean Ryden; brothers, Edwin and Frank; sister-in-law Marjorie; sister Elza Taplin and brother-in-law Ray Taplin and his father and mother-in-law, George and Agnes DeVos.
John served on several boards, Consumers Co-op, the Community Club, St. Erik's Parish Council and was a Councillor for the Rural Municipality of Eriksdale.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020, at the Eriksdale Recreation Centre with Father Paul Tinguely officiating. A luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital Guild, c/o Irene Sigurdson, Box 474, Eriksdale, MB, R0C 0W0.
We would like to thank the Ambulance attendants, Constable Rhoden, Corporal Friesen, Dr. Thomas and the nurses of the E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital and to John and Karen Gray of Arnason Funeral Home.
