October 9, 1941 - January 9, 2020

Peacefully on the morning of January 9, after a heroic battle with cancer, Tom passed away at Riverview Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 78.
He is survived by his wife Arlene, the love of his life for 57 years, also his children, Donna Pearce (Jim), Debra and Dave (Lisa), and grandchildren, Stefani, Ryan, Payton and Jayme.
He was predeceased by his brother David, and parents, Don and Mildred Dorsett.
Tom had a wicked sense of humour and a contagious laugh, and maintained that throughout his illness.
The relationship with his wife, was that of fairy tales. He was loved and adored by all who knew him.
Tom was a long time employee with CNR until he retired in 1996 and moved out to the Whiteshell to live permanently in the family cottage. He loved to spend time with his family and their friends, taking them tubing on the lake for hours at a time. We have fond memories of fighting over the last piece of Arlene's homemade apple pie, Tom's favourite.
He will live on in our hearts forever.
Cremation has taken place, and should friends desire, please make a donation in Tom's honour to Manitoba Underdogs Rescue, or a charity of one's choice.

Little did we know that morning
Someone would call your name
In life we loved you dearly
In death we do the same
It broke our hearts to lose you
You did not go alone
For part of us went with you
the day you chose your new home.
You left us wonderful memories
Your love is still our guide
Although we cannot see you
You are always by our side
Our friendship chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But as we are called one by one
The chain will link again

My mom and dad appreciated his kindness and talent as a mechanic. My mom always encouraged him to find find another career and not be a mechanic. They were very supportive of him leaving the service station and starting a new career with CNR. Your were a true friend to our family. Our condolences to the family.
