WENDY ANN MCTAVISH

On January 11, 2020, at approximately 5:20 p.m., the world became a little darker as the light of Wendy Ann McTavish went out. She was 67.
She lost a long battle with liver disease, though in the end she went peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on an unseasonably hot day, to Raymond and Isabel McTavish, on April 27, 1952 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, her siblings lamented the hot car ride but rejoiced ever since.
She loved all manners of animals and dreamt of one day retiring to an Alpaca farm, enjoying the peace of nature.
She spent her life helping others in Crisis Centres in Dauphin/Winnipeg, the Regional Health Authority in Brandon, CFS in Swan River, as well as a personal counsellor to many more.
She loved her family and she loved Jesus. One mourns while the other accepts her home.
She is sorely missed by her brother Earl; her sister Dorothy; her children, Chris (Jo Ann), Melanie (Colin) and Josh; her grandchildren, Hailey, Branden, Colten, Peyton, Liam, Jesse, Molly, Avery, Gwen and Veronica.
She follows her sister Margaret; her brother Dennis; and her grandson Darwin into the next life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winnipeg Harvest.
The funeral is to take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at the Ness Avenue Baptist Church, 2700 Ness Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • We are sorry for your loss.Wendy was a very gracious lady. She loved to chat and be a friend to all.She never wanted to impose by asking for rides. We don’t remember her ever complaining about her illness.I know she was so pleased to be able to attend family celebrations even when she was ill. She was part of our Bible Study ( Life Group ) at church and will be missed. We look forward to seeing her in Heaven. - Posted by: Nancy and Lincoln Lautermilch (Church friends ) on: Jan 26, 2020
