She will be forever remembered by her husband of 59 years, Albert; by her children, Carl (Karen), Dan (Jennifer), Brenda (Mike), and Grant (Lori); along with 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; as well as many extended family members and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Carl Anderson who died in Belgium during the Second World War, and by her mother and stepfather Betty and Chief Veilleux, and by her grandson Jesse in infancy.
Carol touched countless people with her gentle nature and love. She and Albert fostered over 150 children during their years in Gillam, The Pas and Lac du Bonnet and helped out others on their life journeys. She was a business partner to Albert, and the center of her family, always "there" for everyone. She was an avid knitter, berry picker and gardener and was very involved in her community (mentorship program, youth centre, justice committee, personal care home volunteer.)
A celebration of Carol's life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Lac du Bonnet Legion, with private family interment to follow at the Lee River Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pinawa CancerCare or CancerCare Manitoba.
