ADELINE HOLSCHEN
(nee HEIDINGER)
June 9, 1929 - January 20, 2020
She was predeceased by her parents, Olga and Friedrich, and siblings, Hugo, Arthur, Herman, Fred, Elvira and Irma.
She leaves to mourn her loving husband Hinrich (Henry), son Herman (Susan), grandchildren, Steven (Olena), Samantha (Kevin), and great-grandchildren, Austin and Eva; as well as her siblings, Edmond (Eva), Eleanore and Olga, sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Kristiane, and many nieces and nephews.
She was born in Romania and her family travelled to Austria then Poland and settled in Germany in 1944, where she met the love of her life, Henry. They came across to Canada in May 1951 and married on October 20, 1951.
Her son Herman was born February 1958 and was her pride and joy. She welcomed her daughter-in-law Susan into the family in 1981, then became proud Oma to her beloved grandson Steven and granddaughter Samantha.
She worked for many years as a seamstress in the garment industry and used her talents to make beautiful outfits for her family. After retiring they enjoyed travelling to Cuba, Texas and Germany.
Her favourite things were her family and her beautiful flower gardens, which she proudly displayed when hosting many family gatherings over the years. Her door was always open and if you dropped in you would never leave hungry. She was a great cook and even a better baker.
We all loved her very much.
We will miss you "Oma".
