April 26, 1938 - January 19, 2020

It is with sorrow we announce the passing of Ruth at the age of 81. She passed away peacefully in her residence at Fred Douglas Lodge Care Home.
Ruth leaves behind Edward, her husband of 61 years; her daughters, Teresa (Wayne), Deana (Bob) and Judy (Mark); and son Tom (Aynslee). She also leaves her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, Brien (Susan) and Dave; sister Helen (Les); sisters-in-law, Ann and Peggy; plus many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
We wish to thank ALL the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge (Oak Unit) for the wonderful care, compassion and love they've given Ruth over these past five years.
Cremation has taken place as per her wishes. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
Thank you also to Ashley Newton of Alterna Cremation for helping us navigate through this hard time.

  • My heart goes out to the family of this vibrant lovely lady. Although we just re-connected recently I will never forget the loving warmth I felt when at the family gatherings, her bright smile, the absolute look of love when she saw Uncle Ted.   • I was saddened to hear of Ruth's passing. She was one of the founding memebers of our Red Hat Group in Rainy River. I enjoyed many wonderful adventures with her over the years. She always added that extra " sparkle" to our gatherings. Things were never the same when she and Ed moved to Winnipeg.
