SADIE MELNYCHUK
January 8, 1925 - January 20, 2020
Sadie was born to Adam and Mary Wishnowski, and had 11 brothers and sisters. She farmed with her husband Joe in the Hodgson area for many years until he passed away in March of 1988, after which she moved to Winnipeg.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Lawrence), Lorraine (Ron) and Terry (Paul); grandchildren, Stuart, Chris, Scott, Ashley, Kara, Kayla, Kaitlyn; and great-grandchildren, Lily and Jaelyn. She is also survived by her brother Walter, and her sister Jean. Her sister Jean was her greatest confidante, and was a pillar of strength to her at all times. While she lived in her condo she had a dear friend Eileen who often called or dropped in to see how she was doing.
Mom was a kind and compassionate person who always cared about the welfare of others, and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She crocheted and knitted for many years until her eyesight prevented her from doing so. She was also a talented painter and produced some lovely artwork that she displayed in her home.
A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.
